What is the price of a PUF panel per square foot?
There is no single PUF panel price. The rate per square metre or square foot depends mainly on core thickness, skin steel gauge and coating, the core type (PUF, FR-PUF or PIR), the joint, the brand and the order size. Transport is extra, quoted for your pincode, and flashing is made as per your requirement.

How are PUF panels priced in India?
Sandwich panels are sold by area: the cover width of each panel multiplied by its cut length, added up for the whole order. Makers and suppliers quote either per square metre (m²) or per square foot (sq ft). To compare two quotes in different units, convert first: 1 m² = 10.7639 sq ft, so a rate per m² divided by 10.7639 gives the rate per sq ft. The unit converter shows the formula as you type.
The panel rate is normally ex-works: it is the price of the panel at the maker’s plant. Transport to your site, GST, accessories, flashing and installation are separate lines. A quote that looks cheaper often just leaves one of those lines out.
What changes the PUF panel rate?
Eight things decide most of the rate. The table shows the direction of each effect, not a number, because the size of the effect differs by brand and by week.
| Factor | Typical options | Effect on the rate |
|---|---|---|
| Core thickness | 30–200 mm | Thicker core = more foam = higher rate. Not proportional: the two steel skins cost the same at any thickness. |
| Skin gauge | 0.35–0.8 mm steel per face | Thicker steel costs more. Check that both faces are quoted at the same gauge. |
| Skin material and coating | PPGI, PPGL, stainless steel 304, aluminium | PPGI is usually the base. PPGL, stainless and aluminium cost more. |
| Core type | PUF, FR-PUF, PIR | FR-PUF and PIR usually cost more than standard PUF. |
| Family and joint | Continuous T&G, cam-lock | Cam-lock panels carry foamed-in lock hardware and are pressed in batches. |
| Profile | Flat, micro-rib, trapezoidal roof | Roof profiles and special embossing can change the rate. |
| Lengths and quantity | Cut to length; small or full truck loads | Very short or very long cuts and small orders can cost more per m². |
| Brand and plant | Several makers in India | Each maker prices differently; the nearest plant also changes the transport line. |
Colour usually matters less than people expect when it is a standard shade of the coil supplier. A special RAL colour can need a minimum coil quantity and a longer lead time.
What is not included in the panel rate?
- Transport: extra, at actuals, quoted separately for your pincode. We arrange dispatch across India.
- Flashing and trims: made as per your requirement (profile, girth, length, colour), so they are quoted once you tell us what you need.
- Accessories: sealant, L-angles or coving, fasteners, suspension rods for wide ceilings, and doors.
- GST: shown as a separate line on the quote.
- Installation: not part of a supply quote; it can be arranged on request depending on location and project size.
How do I compare two PUF panel quotes?
Put the quotes side by side and check these lines before you look at the rate. If one line differs, the rates are not comparable yet.
- Core type and thickness (for example PUF 100 mm, not just “100 mm panel”).
- Core density (typically 38–42 kg/m³ for PUF).
- Skin gauge and material on each face, and the coating (PPGI or PPGL) with colour.
- Cover width (1000 mm, 1150 mm or 1200 mm are common) and the cut lengths.
- Unit: per m² or per sq ft, and whether it is measured on the cover width.
- What is included: accessories, flashing, doors, transport, GST.
- Fire documents if you need PIR or FR grade: ask for the certificate for that exact panel.
- Validity and transit time from the dispatching plant.
That is exactly how we lay out our own quotes: the same specification priced across the brands available for your city, one row per brand.
How can I bring the cost down without losing performance?
- Pick the thickness for the room temperature, not the thickest panel on offer. See which thickness for which temperature.
- Use standard cover widths and standard coil colours.
- Order wall, roof and ceiling panels in one lot, so the load is fuller and the core and colour match.
- Send exact cut lengths. Panels cut to your drawing reduce site wastage.
- Let several brands price the same specification. That is the point of a multi-brand quote.
What do you need from me for an accurate rate?
- Panel type: wall, roof, cold room, clean room or cabin.
- Thickness, or the room temperature so we can suggest one.
- Area, or the room size (L × W × H) and the number of doors.
- Skin and coating preference, if any.
- Site city or pincode, for the transport quote.
The panel calculator turns a room size into panel counts and an accessory list you can send in one tap.
